SERVICES

We’ll work together to customize a program of services designed specifically for you.

  • This meeting provides a behind-the-scenes view of selective college admissions, a contextual evaluation of your current academic / personal circumstances, and a strategic action plan. It is the launch point for our partnership.

    In-Home (tri-state area)

  • Establish an initial list of colleges based on your interests and goals. We’ll navigate you through a process of research and visitations to understand the colleges’ main and subtle differences, finalize the list, and create an application timeline.

  • Our signature approach to standing out in the selective college admissions process. It provides your North Star for making decisions in high school and an anchor for weaving a coherent and highly compelling story throughout all aspects of your college application.

  • Establish a multiyear curriculum plan to take advantage of opportunities within (and beyond) your specific high school that support your admissions strategy. May include exploration of potential college majors and career trajectories.

  • Mentorship that enhances and transcends your college preparation. Success in college admissions depends at least as much upon your character and emotional intelligence as your academic record. In addition to developing the three pillars of The Citizen Scholar, we support your time, information, stress and reputation management.

  • Concierge diagnostic testing. Definitive answers on what tests to take (or not take), a personalized preparation method, and timelines based on specific goals. Connection to one of the country’s most in-demand tutors.

  • Evaluate your current resume. Identify and recommend new opportunities to make a greater impact on your own personal development and the community at large. May include selective summer experiences, internships, independent research, and/or a “superstar project.”

  • Your resume and “activity sheet” portion of college applications are an opportunity to document your impact. We’ll help you use this section to highlight personal significance, personality, and perspective in a creative manner.

  • Your personal statement and college-specific supplemental essays are centerpieces of your college applications. We’ll help you excavate your best ideas, execute early drafts, and elevate polished revisions with gravitas.

  • Your letters of recommendation provide an outside perspective on your character, but you have a tremendous opportunity to influence their contents. We coach you on the 15-point evaluation method of teacher recommendations and completing effective “brag sheets” to control the narrative.

  • On-campus or alumni interviews are your chance to speak directly with a college representative. We provide guidance on what questions to expect and how to articulate yourself in ways that complement the rest of your application. We do a mock interview for you to practice and be ready to impress.

  • The admissions office experience. We provide the complete application files of five previous Ivy League applicants for review and analysis with you. It’s as fascinating as it is instructive.

  • College application systems and policies can make the completion and submission of your applications complex. We provide ongoing guidance to keep you organized and on schedule. We will review and proofread all applications prior to submission.

  • Applying to fine arts programs typically requires portfolio submissions. We help you through the process of creating a compelling portfolio including an artist’s statement. A portfolio may also be appropriate for artistic students interested in academic disciplines even when it is not required.

  • Establish a list of colleges at the intersection of your athletic skill level and academic goals. We provide guidance on the creation of your recruitment package and how to nurture strong relationships with coaches. We also help you effectively navigate all NCAA rules and the Eligibility Center process.
